What moving to Cargo gets you

Three concrete reasons to move to Cargo - what's actually different.

Written by Steven Chen

1. New tools and content land in Cargo, and nowhere else

This is the real reason to move. Anything new Greyscalegorilla makes from here forward ships in Cargo.

Studio and the Hub carry what's already installed in them. That's what they were built to do, and it's what they'll keep doing. They don't check for anything new, and they won't start.

If you want what comes next, Cargo is the only place it shows up.

2. Cargo is where current software support lives

3D applications keep shipping new versions, and Cargo is where that support keeps getting built. Studio isn't receiving new version support going forward, so as your software moves ahead, Studio stays where it is.

For exact version numbers by application, see Cargo software support.

3. If you work outside Cinema 4D: Maya and 3ds Max

Cargo supports Maya and 3ds Max, and you connect your software through the Connector in one-click and Cargo manages the install from there.
